“Dr. McCartan and the team at Northwest Surgery Center are absolutely amazing. I had surgery on both feet in the last week of November 2022. I had bunions and hammertoe on both feet. In addition, my second toe on my right foot crossed over my big toe, and that same toe had a complete plantar plate tear at the base of my toe. It was very painful to walk and I had to stop running. I met with several other Podiatrists before I came to Milwaukee. It was one of these Doctors, who performs traditional bunion surgery, who suggested that I get evaluated by Dr. McCartan and consider his minimum-invasive surgery technique. Dr. McCartan said that I would be fully healed at 12 weeks. I was back running 3 miles a day during week 13. I am 68 years old and have been a runner since I was 9 years old. This minimally invasive surgery gave me my feet back, and the ability to do everything I want to do again, especially running. I would highly recommend Dr. McCartan and the Northwest Surgery Center to anyone who has any of the issues that I have identified here. “

The surgery necessary to fix my foot was explained to me by a podiatrist in my hometown as "difficult and painful". I... was told I should plan on a 4 month recovery. The first month I would be in a boot, and could not drive. In his own words he said "you are going to hate me for the first month because of the pain". I was told here would be pins inserted in my toes that would be required to be removed later. I watched the surgical procedure online and decided then and there to not have this crude, obsolete, nasty surgery done and to live with damage to my foot.I found out about the Northwest Surgery center and Dr. McCartan in my local paper, and drove the 2 hours one way to have a consultation. It was well worth the trip. Dr. McCartan explained how he would repair my foot, and I was encouraged. He explained that I would have a 2 month recovery, and would have a small, relatively comfortable boot, and I could drive. There would be no pins inserted either. He explained the pain would be minimal and I could tolerate it with extra strength acetaminophen, and even be able to drive myself home from the surgery as he uses local anesthesia. Therefore I made the decision to have his surgery, and it played out just as he told me. My foot is healed without the disfigurement I would have had to live with if I had the old outdated surgery. I have the function of my foot back within 2 months, and am thankful for Dr. McCartan and his pleasant and professional staff.I would recommend the Northwest Surgical Center to anyone who qualifies as a candidate for their surgical methods.read more

My mother in law drove from Indiana to have Dr. McCartan fix her Tailor's bunion. All the previous foot doctors she... went to told her she would be in a walking boot and crutches for 6 weeks. Dr. McCartan fixed her bunion and she walked out of the operating room and was driving the same day! It was well worth the trip for her.read more

Dr. McCartan and the entire staff at Northwest Surgery Center were absolutely amazing! I visited the Surgery Center to... address a curled baby toe, and from the moment I walked in the door the experience was wonderful. The staff is highly professional and very personable. Dr. McCartan took the time to walk through my x-rays in detail and answer all of my questions so that I knew exactly what my treatment options were and what to expect afterwords. The results were just what I was hoping for, and I was back on my feet at full speed before I expected. Overall, I could not have been more pleased with my experience and I would eagerly recommend Dr. McCartan and the Northwest Surgery Center to anyone considering foot or toe related surgery.read more

Dr. McCarran and staff are very competent. For me, first bunions and recently hammer toes.Walked in and walked out.... No multi month recovery involving a scooter. I can't imagine why someone would not choose the minimally invasive procedures.read more

I had the best experience at the Colorado location for my bunion surgery! The entire team was so warm and welcoming... from Day 1. I especially love and respect Dr. Horsely who has a wonderful bedside manner and felt he truly cared about my situation. I never doubted he knew what he was doing and how experienced he was with this Minimally Invasive procedure. He took time with me to understand my history and the current state of my feet and never left any details out. I was able to reach the staff at any time if I needed via text. My surgery went well and I am 6 weeks post op and doing very well - - and NO BUNIONS! I am in normal shoes and can't wait to wear heels again! Thank you to the staff for taking care of me and for getting rid of those little bumps on my feet! :)read more

Dr. Weissmann removed my bunions on my left foot. It was a very quick and relatively painless procedure. My foot is... sore but I don't have any pain. He didn't use any rods or pins. He answered all of my questions and made sure I understood the procedure.The staff is great. They are positive and very willing to help.I would highly recommend this Team!read more
